The theoretical part of the program is focused on an overview of the historical development of chamber music formations and typical compositions of the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods with particular emphasis on chamber music of Croatian composers. Work on the improvement of technique and the interpretative level of playing instrument will focus on the special requirements of chamber music, as well as playing in a string quartet and preparing students for a secure and harmonized concert performance.

Wladimir-Kossjanenko (1)

Prof. Wladimir Kossjanenko (Croatia), professor of viola, chamber music and string quartet at the Arts Academy in Split. He studied viola at the Conservatory in St.Petersburg (Russia), Royal Conservatory in Ghent (Belgium) and Universität für Darstellende Kunst Wien (Austria). He was a regular substitute with Vienna Philharmonic. He has performed in Europa, Asia, the United States, and South America in famous concert halls such as Carnegie HallMusikverein, Suntory Hall.

He was solo violist of Philharmonic Orchestra in Graz and member of the Viennese quartet Hugo Wolf. Among others, he is the winner of the European Prize for Chamber Music in Paris and Prize of the Austrian Radio. He gave masterclasses for viola and chamber music in UK, Netherland, Japan, Austria, France, Greece, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Croatia. He founded a String orchestra The Virtuosos of Split.
