Contact: Art in the Community - KUZ, IP-UNIST-56

Funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU  KUZ

About

The project's goal is to raise awareness about the importance of art as a socially responsible activity that contributes to community development and raising social awareness through visual arts creation. The focus is on sensitizing students to the importance of social and civic engagement and encouraging critical reflection on the role of art in society. The project implementation will emphasize expanding the space for dialogue between the local and academic communities as well as audiences outside the art milieu. Collaboration with public institutions at the university, city, and county levels will ensure wide accessibility of activity results.

Activities: exhibition programs; artistic-research projects; visual arts workshops; lectures; will be realized in collaboration with visiting professors, renowned artists, and experts working within targeted visual arts and social fields. The goal of the activities is also to improve teaching and research practice through knowledge exchange and contemporary working methodologies, development of innovative artistic approaches, and encouragement of collaboration among broader social groups at national and international levels. A special segment of the project will relate to the ecological component in terms of: using materials and techniques that are environmentally friendly, while the use of digital tools and technologies will enable creative expression in an ecologically acceptable way. Active student involvement in project activities contributes to the development and strengthening of their learning outcomes as well as establishing and expanding professional connections in accordance with professional requirements and the contemporary labor market.
