In a time when traditional models of artistic practice are losing touch with the complexity of contemporaneity, the project „UMAS INCUBATOR: Artistic Research in the Focus of the Community“ approaches art as a means of critical reflection and social action, opening space for transdisciplinary approaches and new models of social responsibility. The project explores specific forms of artistic, educational, and performative practice in contemporary society through three complementary work packages: UMAS OPEN STAGE (I. artistic-research dialogue in interaction between students, teachers, and the public through activities such as exhibitions, performances, concerts, student symposia, interdisciplinary workshops, and II. connecting academic education with community needs and challenges of social integration through educational-artistic programs for schools and vulnerable groups in society); UMAS FEST (a platform for the annual public presentation and critical reflection of the institution's artistic and scientific work) and UMAS DIGITAL (systematic collection, processing, and digital storage of visual, audio, and textual project materials as a basis for establishing a future digital repository of institutional activities). The project will increase the visibility and impact of artistic education and action in public space and strengthen the position of UMAS as a leading regional actor in the field of integrating artistic research, education, and public action. Through research-oriented activities, the project affirms art as a method of critically examining social relations, whereby each work package acts as a tool for connecting artistic excellence with community needs.
