The Library of the Arts Academy in Split has been organising an interdisciplinary workshop on the bibliographic cataloguing of musical scores from the UMAS Library holdings since 2 April 2026, as part of the History of Croatian Music course led by Assistant Professor Maja Milošević Carić, PhD. As a practical component of the course, music pedagogy students, under the guidance of librarians Žana Siminiati Violić and Maja Džaja Krile, create bibliographic records for musical scores in accordance with ISBD(PM) standards and become familiar with the bibliographic description of printed music, international cataloguing standards and relevant reference sources.
This is the second in a series of workshops through which the UMAS Library, within the HIP UMAS project, is strengthening the integration of library resources into the teaching process, following a successfully completed workshop in conservation and restoration in March 2026.
Through hands-on work with musical scores, students contribute to the long-term accessibility of musical heritage in the library catalogue while also developing research competencies that will support them throughout their studies and in their future professional careers.
