Research and documentary process within the IDIUP project
In the period from 13 to 16 February, an intensive research and documentary process was carried out in Venice within the IDIUP project – practical research in the creation of documentary material. Dan Oki, Andrea Kaštelan, Gildo Bavčević and Sandra Sterle participated in the project.
The process was conceived as an artistic and research documentary practice focused on researching methods of recording, performing, recording and archiving artistic work, with a special emphasis on the relationship between sound and physical performances, documentarism and the production of meaning. The collected material also serves as a development basis for the film Abstract Machine (author: Dan Oki), with the research and film processes complementing each other.
The research included recording artistic actions and performances, collecting video, photographic and audio recordings, and documenting the work process, space and duration, while experimenting with recording material and immaterial aspects of artistic practice.
