Due to an exceptionally high level of interest, we offer Klapa Singing as an additional elective course to the existing Music Pedagogy, Music Culture Studies and Academic Studies (Music Theory) programmes.
A group of subjects addressing the tradition and craft of klapa singing is available solely to the students of Music Pedagogy, Cultural Studies and Academic Studies (Music Theory) programmes.
This initiative is supported by the renowned klapa charity ‘Ljubo Stipišić Delmata’ and The Festival of Dalmatian Klapas in Omiš.
The Klapa Singing programme comprises 16 subjects and is delivered throughout the entire duration of undergraduate study within Music Pedagogy and Academic Studies (Music Theory), whereas the postgraduate students of Academic Studies (Music Theory) and Music Cultural Studies receive this tuition in the first and second semester of their programme. Due to an overlap of subjects between the Klapa singing programme and the mainstream studies, the students of Music Pedagogy and Music Cultural Studies will only require 6 elective subjects to complete the programme. Students of Academic Studies (Music Theory) will require 14 subjects which will be timetabled alongside their regular subjects (2 modules are a compulsory undergraduate subjects).
Klapa Singing as an additional programme started in 2020/2021 with first group of students taking elective subjects in their 5th and 6th semester of studies.
