Conservation-restoration – additional examination for enrolment in the first year of the integrated programme of study
All candidates satisfying enrolment criteria as stated in the General conditions of the Enrolment Competition announced by the University of Split have the right to compete for the enrolment in the first year of the programme of study.
Right to enrolment is realised by candidates who exceed the threshold score (50 points) and achieve the highest total number of points.
Total number of points (maximum of 100) is calculated by adding points achieved on the DPZVS (additional examination of knowledge, skills, and abilities) (maximum of 85) to the points based on high school results (maximum of 15 points; high school Grade Point Average multiplied by three).
ADDITIONAL EXAMINATION OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Although it is not scored, the art portfolio with two works is the elimination factor of the test. In other words, candidates whose art collections are not approved by the examination committee cannot proceed to the second section of the examination.
Art portfolio is comprised of one drawing and one painting according to predefined templates
a) drawing on paper – study according to predefined template (50 cm * 40 cm);
b) painting – study according to predefined template (AERO tempera, 30 cm * 30 cm, on thick paper, cardboard, or canvas). - Drawing according to observation: brings a maximum of 20 points.
- Art culture and art history test: brings a maximum of 20 points.
Compulsory literature: H. W. Janson: Povijest umjetnosti (Art history) and J. Damjanov: Likovna umjetnost (Fine Art) 1 and 2
- Test of perceptual skills brings a maximum of 20 points. The professional committee speaks to the candidates and tests their abilities to differentiate between various materials and techniques, as well as their abilities to notice and interpret textures, damaged areas, material alterations and subsequently performed art interventions.
- Conversation with candidate/ Personal presentation of candidatebrings a maximum of 25 points. Every candidate must prepare a five-minute PowerPoint presentation in which they will briefly introduce themselves, their educational experiences to date, as well as extracurricular achievements. The candidate must also elaborate on their motivation for enrolment into the Conservation-restoration programme of study as well as briefly describe the preparation process for the entrance exam. The candidate is expected to explain how they became acquainted with conservation-restoration and what they know about the profession/topic, preferably by referring to an example of cultural heritage on which conservation-restoration treatments were performed.
The following must be brought to the practical section of the examination: B4 pencil and one white paper (dimensions: 50 cm * 70 cm).
